PROJECT STATEMENT 项目介绍:

This project is a 1685 square meter villa to be located in a high density, affluent, suburban quarter of Beijing, China. The client requested a villa with a traditional courtyard, an open flexible floor plan and that would respect the view and sunlight of their neighbors. To meet all their demands we designed a continuous building volume that meanders over the site to create 3 semi enclosed courtyards, in this way we maximize the relationship between the garden and the interior. The volume is pushed down in the east corner to allow for more sunlight in the courtyard. Inside the 8 meter wide volume we create a column free continuous naturally lit space. By using different roof types and heights the buildings get broken down into smaller units to make the building appear smaller and in this way better suited to the scale and density of the villa quarter where it is situated.
